Requisition Number 1853BR Primary Purpose: Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepares design for an assigned system. This may include analysis, calculations, research, selection, layout, etc., necessary to develop required design documents. Prepares design materials for basic design assignments. · Supervises drafters, designers, and occasional subordinate engineers assigned to the project. This includes work assignments, scheduling, and review. · Coordinates design efforts with other project personnel in the same or other departments · Coordinated items include space control, schedule and layout optimization. Evaluates manufacturer's or contractor's proposals, data, reports, etc., for conformance with B&V criteria. · Evaluates manufacturer's or contractor's proposals, data, reports, etc., for conformance with B&V criteria. · Prepares assigned reports, studies or analysis for project. · Maintains records, lists, schedules, etc., for engineering projects. · Work under the direction of the lead engineer to develop substation controls and the interface requirements with power plants. Work on complex engineering projects, particularly retrofit projects. Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, plans and specifications. Communicate and work well with all types of people. Provide direction to technicians. Assist the lead project engineer in estimating project costs for engineering and construction. Provide assistance to the project engineer to maintain records, lists, and reports to ensure compliance with the clients schedule, budget and procurement requirements.
Minimum Qualifications Education: · Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. The incumbent must have the Engineer-In-Training EIT certification or its equivalent, if any, in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. · Minimum of 3 year's of experience performing engineering related duties. Knowledgeable of physical layouts, electrical clearances, conduit, raceway and grounding designs.
